In addition to all genre classes, we offer technique classes for different levels to focus on technique execution for different genres. This allows the dancer to progress more quickly through proper technique and additional one-on-one instruction. Technique is the basis of all fundamentals of dance, from holding the body correctly while performing, to executing skills properly in a routine. Strong technique extends across all areas of dance, regardless of the genre. There is always an element of technique that can be improved upon. Learning solid technique is essential to a dancers’ success; taking only genre classes is simply not enough to produce a skilled dancer. Good technique will ensure a dancer’s longevity, prevent injuries, build strength and flexibility, and refine movement quality. We strongly encourage all our dancers to register for their level of technique class along with their level of genre classes this year.
This is a non-performing class which means they will not perform a routine in the Spring Production.
